Abstract:  In conjunction with co-operation partners, world-wide field tests have been performed in true praxis-related applications on a number of crops. Aim of the field-study was to determine the usability of different polythene-greenhouse covers in conjunction with their photo-selective properties. Different climatic conditions as well as a broad spectrum of end-user situations have been covered also taking marketing requirements into consideration. The excellent results even question traditional theories about the influence of certain spectra on crop behavior. In some instances new hypothesis were confirmed by field evaluation.  Wepelen® Copper Films have been applied in direct comparison to existing qualities and the results may lead to new developments in greenhouse-films.
