Plasticulture 2006 - Location Announcement

THE 33RD NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL PLASTICS CONGRESS
November 2 to November 5, 2006 San Antonio, Texas

title

As a leader in innovation, the American Society of Plasticulture has brought the world some of its greatest advances in agriculture and horticulture. Now the ASP Board of Directors is excited to bring that same innovative spirit to the National Agricultural Plastics Congress.

Plasticulture 2006, the 33rd Congress, will be held in conjunction with The Irrigation Association’s 27th International Irrigation Show in San Antonio, Texas. To accommodate scheduling and make it possible for everyone to appreciate the value in both meetings, ASP will switch the Congress to a Thursday through Sunday schedule . . .starting with the Welcome Reception on Thursday, November 2 and concluding with the tour on Sunday, November 5. The Irrigation show will begin on November 5 and run through November 7.

The Congress program will focus, as always, on the newest information and technology in plasticulture, with research reports, technical shorts, discussion sessions, and internationally acclaimed presenters. The tour will be enhanced by participation from irrigation specialists, who can share their input as we visit greenhouse, field production, and turf applications of plasticulture.

Schedule in the dates on your calendar so you don’t make any conflicting plans. The Visitors Bureau of San Antonio says their city “captures the spirit of Texas . . . retaining its sense of history and tradition, while carefully blending in cosmopolitan progress. Sounds and flavors of Native Americans, Old Mexico, Germans, the Wild West, African-Americans and the Deep South mingle and merge. Close to twenty million visitors a year delight in the discovery of San Antonio's charms.”

Bill Tietjen, chair for the 33rd Congress, extends his personal invitation to you to begin planning now to share your research and join your colleagues for an adventure in innovation at Plasticulture 2006.
